The Emirates Palace. A unique seven-star hotel located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This is actually a place I had been to when my family first moved to Dubai (about 10 years ago) and we had gone for tea (a great way to see this beautiful place)but we had never stayed the night, and this time we were able to stay the weekend! Keep reading to know all about my weekend at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The Emirates Palace was originally built to be, you guessed it, a palace. However, as it was so beautiful and grand, it was then transformed into a hotel in order for the public to be able to visit and experience. The palace is quite grand in size, and it consists of two wings and the prime central building. I really wish it could fit into one picture to be able to show its true beauty!
There are a lot of traditional elements of Arabic architecture throughout the palace, and as per UAE tradition, a lot of extravagances (and gold).

Emirates Palace
As mentioned above, this place is truly a palace that is overwhelming with elegance and luxury. A lot of its pillars and certain objects are actual gold and a lot of it is marble as well.
The staff is also extremely helpful and kind! We were happily greeted by our butler (all rooms have one) who took our luggage and who gave us our room key, a wonderful little round gold key to scan into the room!
Dining
We ate at two of the restaurants in the two evenings that we stayed. As a fellow foodie, they were both a dream and were wonderful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great, and both of the restaurants had little quirks about them! Peek at the squid ink bread in the blue-lit seafood restaurant Al Sayad that we dined on the first night!
Additionally, there is a great breakfast buffet that’s offered every morning that includes all the choices you could imagine! You can sit outside and enjoy the lovely view.

Relax
During the day we spent most of our time at the pool. We went in September and unfortunately, the beach was just a little too hot to enjoy, but the pool had a great big section and also a separate section for adults and had water beds. The perfect way to cool down on the weekend.
All in all, this was definitely a one time opportunity that we enjoyed completely. It was such a great weekend to spend with the family and still have a staycation!

We had to analyze a building for one of our projects and I had chosen the Burj Al Arab- which was mesmerizing enough. This insight of Emirates palace simply ignites the wanderlust within me. ❤
